A SCENARIO OF ADOPTING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY IN SUPPLY CHAIN: A STUDY OF E-COMMERCE IN BANGLADESH

Abstract

In Bangladesh, the use of blockchain technology remains almost a concept. Though many countries have already used this technology and gotten better results, especially in the supply chain, we are yet to make sure use of them. Therefore, we are deprived of this technology benefit. Blockchain can eliminate some major issue that exists within the supply chain, in our study we have tried to identify the scenario that will be influenced by this technology, especially in the e-commerce industry. This technology has the ability to create a trustworthy, secure, and swifter documentation process. We closely investigate the barrier while adopting this technology in respect of Bangladesh’s e-commerce industry. We develop a model that illustrates blockchain integration in the supply chain. To understand the real scenario, we communicate with field-level management and higher management of leading e-commerce companies in Bangladesh. We find positive responses from all of them though they have reproached Bangladesh’s government policy.Inspite of some issues we are very optimistic regarding blockchain-based supply chain management system.
